Chirpy Hosts are the heart of our community.
When Chirpy was created, it was built around one simple truth: friendship changes lives. Hosting is not about running events or being “in charge”. It’s about creating a welcoming space where friendships can grow naturally.
If you care about people, enjoy meeting others, and like the idea of helping your local community feel more connected, you already have what it takes to be a great Host or Co-Host.
And the most important thing to know upfront? You are not doing this alone. We support you. And it’s far easier than most people think.
Why members choose to become hosts
Being a Chirpy Host is one of the most rewarding ways to be involved in the community. Hosts often tell us they gain as much as they give.
As a Host or Co-Host you will:
Help people who may be lonely feel seen, welcomed, and included
Watch genuine friendships form, sometimes for the first time in years

How we support you
We take hosting seriously, which means we take supporting our Hosts seriously.
You will receive:
Free membership as a Host, or 50% off as a Co-Host
Ongoing guidance and support from our dedicated Host Team
Simple tools to list CatchUps and track RSVPs
Coins for hosting CatchUps
A Host or Co-Host pack, including name tags and a Chirpy sign to make CatchUps easy and welcoming
You do not need to be tech-savvy, overly organised or “good at events”. If you ever feel unsure, we are only a message away.
What hosting really involves (honestly!)
We aim to keep hosting simple, flexible, and realistic.
We ask that Hosts and Co-Hosts:
Hold around two CatchUps per month. For new or smaller groups, one CatchUp per month is absolutely fine.
List CatchUps in advance so members can plan
Make basic reservations with cafes or venues (we’ll guide you)
Bring a positive, welcoming attitude — kindness matters more than perfection
If possible, share the occasional happy photo so we can celebrate your group
